Intertextuality in music videos

Intertextuality from Laila Jaleel

I like the idea of intertextuality however I feel like if you were to use it then it would need to be thought about and done right rather than doing it for the sake of it. We can see why Iggy Azalea referred to the film 'Clueless' in her video and that's because the girls in clueless are portrayed as prestige and 'fancy'. Therefore Iggy wanted to be viewed like this too as her song is called 'Fancy'. I like intertextuality when it is done right so it is something that we could use in our video but we are not sure yet.
