Creating a beginning

We would like to create a beginning part to introduce our music video so it will seem like a mini/short film. Our music video is like a mini story about our artist having a fun day out with her friends so I think a short intro will suit the theme.

Original idea

Our original ideas to have a scene before the music video starts. This scene would consist of a boy and our artist however we would portray our artist as not being interested in the boy as this fits with the lyrics of the songs. However, we decided not to go for this idea as the acting would have to be really good which would be hard to perfect as it may not look professional.

Lady Gaga - Telephone ft Beyonce

Many videos nowadays are like a short film and Lady Gaga's Telephone is a good example of this. Off course we are not going to make our video 9 minutes long however I have taken some inspiration from the video for creating an extra 30 seconds. At the beginning of this video there has been a wide use of location shots to introduce the setting and scenery. These kind of shots have been used to show the audience what kind of theme will be running throughout the video. Some of the shots also include the use of typography to introduce the production company, the artist and the song.

Final idea

I have used Lady Gaga's Telephone music video as inspiration for creating a beginning part to our music video.

At the beginning of the video we think it would be a good idea to use some of the extra/spare shots that we took at the beach as this would represent the daytime and summer. These shots could be used in slow motion along with some text which would introduce the 'production company', our artist and the song. If possible it would look and sound really good if we could find a slower version of the song to use whilst these shots are being shown as it will slowly introduce the song and the video.
