Social media is a popular and modern way of how artists interact with their fans, keep fans updated, post pictures, videos etc. Using social media can help up and coming artists become noticed. Many artists use social media to let their fans know about potential tour dates and albums, for example, making it a very good system for affordable promotion. We have decided to create a Facebook page for our artist, Sasha XO, so that we can post things like our first draft and then, hopefully, receive useful feedback.
We created the full profile including our artists name and a profile picture. Many people, who look like they come under our target audience, started to follow the page. Due to the Facebook page doing well, we decided that we should post our first draft in order to see if we get any feedback from the people that have started to follow the page.
The feedback that we got was really positive. One comment said 'I love the artist and her fun loving spirit'. We have put a lot of work into our artists image so to hear that positive feedback is really good. The comment also says 'I think a few more filters could be added' but we are planning on doing so anyway so at least we know we are going in the right direction. Overall, this method of getting audience feedback has been really useful!
